Terms of service.

Please read these terms on accounts, subscriptions, payment, service levels and liability before using Vekilaw. By creating an account or using the service you accept them.

The Turkish version of this text is the binding one. This English version is provided for information only; in case of any discrepancy the Turkish version prevails.

Five points in brief

  1. 01The subscription runs in monthly or annual periods; new accounts can try it free, and no credit card is needed to sign up.
  2. 02Cancellation takes effect immediately and use continues to the end of the paid period; there is no partial refund.
  3. 03AI access and quota depend on the active plan/add-on scope and use prerequisites; outputs are drafts and require a lawyer’s review.
  4. 04The availability target is 99.9%; the measurement period and any contractual service-level terms are agreed separately.
  5. 05Customer data stays with the Customer and is processed only to provide the Service.

This summary is for information; the articles below are the binding text.

  1. 01/22

    Parties and scope

These terms govern the relationship between Vekilaw (“Vekilaw”) and the lawyer, law firm or in-house legal department (the “Customer”) that uses the cloud-based law firm management service provided at app.vekilaw.com (the “Service”).

The Service is offered for commercial and professional use. The Customer’s authorised users are also bound by these terms, and the Customer is responsible for the actions of its users.

  2. 02/22

    Account and users

An account is required to use the Service. The information given at registration must be accurate and kept up to date.

The Customer is responsible for keeping account details and passwords confidential and must notify Vekilaw without delay if unauthorised use is suspected. A separate account is set up for each user; accounts are not shared.

  3. 03/22

    Subscription and plans

The service is offered for monthly or annual periods. Validate plan names, scope and user, case, storage and AI limits against the current platform-managed catalogue. AI access depends on active plan/add-on scope, company consent, permission and provider configuration; fixed allocations or quotas are not assumed.

A change of plan or period takes effect when the running period ends; a paid period is not shortened. For the Enterprise plan a custom scope and an isolated environment can be offered on request; in that case the offer and the provisions of the written agreement apply ahead of these terms.

  4. 04/22

    Free trial

New accounts may use a free trial whose length depends on the plan and is stated on the pricing page. No credit card is required to sign up. No fee is charged during the trial. If a paid plan is not chosen at the end of the trial, access to the account may be restricted.

Data entered during the trial is kept when you move to a paid plan. Otherwise it is deleted or anonymised in the manner and within the periods set out in the Privacy Policy.

  5. 05/22

    Fees and payment

Validate the current price for the selected plan and period against the catalogue and order summary; monthly and annual prices are independent, and an annual discount is not assumed. Tax information is shown on the pricing page and payment screen.

Subscription fees are collected through the iyzico payment infrastructure as a prepayment at the start of the period; no saved card is charged automatically. Card details are processed by iyzico and are not stored by Vekilaw. If the period that has ended is not paid for, Vekilaw may restrict or suspend the Service after giving notice.

Fee changes are notified at least 30 days in advance and do not affect the fee for the current period.

  6. 06/22

    Renewal, cancellation and refunds

The subscription is prepaid per period and does not renew by itself; a new period starts with the Customer’s payment. While a paid period is running, the Customer can ask from the account settings for the subscription to end when the period ends (cancellation); the request is recorded at once and the Customer keeps using the Service until the end of the paid period. The cancellation can be withdrawn before the period ends. No cancellation is needed for the trial.

No partial refund is given for the period paid; mandatory cases arising from legislation and provisions of a written agreement are reserved. The mandatory statutory rights of users acting as consumers, including the right of withdrawal, are reserved; details are in the Distance Services Agreement and the Cancellation and Refund Policy.

If no payment is made at the end of the period, the account becomes read-only. The Customer can export its data before and after cancellation or expiry, and the company owner can ask from the application for the company account to be closed under KVKK. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

  7. 07/22

    Customer obligations

    The Customer must:

    • use the Service in accordance with the law, professional rules and these terms;
    • ensure that the data it enters into the Service has been lawfully obtained and that the notices and permissions needed for its processing have been given or obtained;
    • not attempt to undermine the security or integrity of the Service or other customers’ use of it (unauthorised access, reverse engineering, excessive load, uploading malware);
    • not use the Service for unlawful purposes, for unfair competition or in violation of the rights of third parties.
  8. 08/22

    Customer data and personal data

Data the Customer enters into the Service belongs to the Customer. For client and case data the Customer is the data controller and Vekilaw is the data processor; Vekilaw processes this data only to provide the Service and in line with the Customer’s instructions.

Details on the protection of personal data are in the Privacy Policy and the KVKK Privacy Notice. On the Customer’s request, a written agreement setting out the data processing terms required by Law No. 6698 can be signed.

  9. 09/22

    AI output

Vekilaw AI access and monthly quota depend on the active plan/add-on scope; use also requires current company consent, permission and provider configuration. Generating drafts, message replies and case predictions is separate from a user manually creating an analysis record without a model call. Generated text and predictions may contain incorrect, incomplete or outdated information; they are not automatic legal approval or a guaranteed outcome. A lawyer must review them before use.

The Customer is responsible for reviewing, verifying and using AI output and for decisions taken on the basis of it. Statutory deadline calculations in the Service are also an aid; checking the exact deadline is part of the Customer’s professional responsibility.

Model and access settings alone do not establish the processing country, subprocessors, retention period or training-use terms. Verify actual provider and contractual terms before use; product settings alone do not guarantee local-only processing, no transfers or exclusion from training.

  10. 10/22

    Service level (SLA)

The availability target is 99.9%; the measurement period and any contractual service-level terms are agreed separately.

On the Enterprise plan this commitment is given in a written service level agreement; the service level, the measurement method and any remedies are set out in a written service level agreement. The live status of the services is published on the system status page.

  11. 11/22

    Support

Support requests are handled on weekdays from 09:00 to 18:00 (Turkey time) through support tickets, email and phone. Priority support is provided on the Enterprise plan. Requests received outside these hours are handled on the next business day.

  12. 12/22

    Intellectual property

All rights in the software, interface, brand, logo and documentation of the Service belong to Vekilaw or its licensors. The Customer is granted a non-transferable, non-exclusive right of use for the duration of the subscription.

Rights in Customer data remain with the Customer; the Customer permits this data to be processed in order to provide the Service. Vekilaw may freely use the Customer’s feedback about the Service.

  13. 13/22

    Limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is”; Vekilaw does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, any particular outcome, or the continuity of public authority systems and third-party providers. The final check of statutory deadlines, hearings and notifications is the Customer’s responsibility.

Without prejudice to wilful misconduct, gross negligence and liabilities that cannot be limited by law, Vekilaw’s liability is limited to direct damages and to the subscription fees paid by the Customer in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. No liability is accepted for indirect loss, loss of profit, loss of reputation or loss arising from data entry.

  14. 14/22

    Suspension and termination

In case of breach of these terms, a security risk or payment default, Vekilaw may suspend access to the Service or terminate the subscription after appropriate notice. In serious breaches and security threats, no prior notice may be given.

On termination, rights relating to access to Customer data apply under the written agreement and the principles in the Privacy Policy.

  15. 15/22

    Confidentiality

The parties keep each other’s commercial and technical information confidential and use it only to perform the agreement. Access by Vekilaw personnel to Customer data is limited to providing the Service, support and security, and is subject to a duty of confidentiality.

Lawful requests from public authorities and notification obligations arising from legislation are exceptions to this duty.

  16. 16/22

    Third-party services and integrations

The Service may work together with third-party services such as payment, email, SMS, WhatsApp, mobile notifications, calendars (Google Calendar, Outlook), e-document (e-Invoice, e-Archive, e-SMM) integrators and public authority systems. The Customer connects calendar and e-document integrations with its own account and the provider it chooses. The continuity and terms of those services are under the control of the relevant providers; interruptions or changes originating from a provider do not give rise to liability on the part of Vekilaw.

The Customer must comply with the providers’ own terms in relation to third-party services.

  17. 17/22

    Force majeure

Neither party is liable for delay in or failure to perform its obligations caused by events beyond its reasonable control, such as natural disasters, war, epidemics, power, internet or infrastructure outages, cyber-attacks and decisions of public authorities.

  18. 18/22

    Notices

Vekilaw gives notice to the Customer at the email address registered on the account or through an in-Service notification; a notice is deemed received on the date it is sent. The Customer must keep its contact details up to date.

The Customer’s notices to Vekilaw are made to the contact details on this page.

  19. 19/22

    Entire agreement and assignment

These terms form the entire agreement between the Customer and Vekilaw; where a written agreement or offer exists, it prevails in case of conflict. If a provision of these terms is held invalid, the validity of the other provisions is not affected.

The Customer may not assign its rights and obligations under this agreement without Vekilaw’s written consent.

  20. 20/22

    Changes to the terms

Vekilaw may update these terms to reflect changes in legislation or in the Service. Material changes are announced by email or within the Service before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the current terms.

  21. 21/22

    Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Turkish law. For disputes between the parties, the courts and enforcement offices of Mersin are competent, in accordance with Article 17 of the Code of Civil Procedure No. 6100, which permits jurisdiction agreements between merchants.

For users acting as consumers, the mandatory jurisdiction and recourse rules of the law are reserved.
